Author of The Week: Julia Donaldson

Julia Donaldson is a British author, born in 1948. She was born in Hampstead, London and was brought up with her mother, father, siblings and cat. From a young age she was interested in poetry as is she now.

Julia graduated from Bristol university with an honours in Drama and French. During this period she was in many performances within the university and learned how to play the guitar.

Donaldson and her assosciate Colin Sell went on to play in France later being joined by Malcolm Donaldson.

Perhaps most famous for ‘The Gruffalo‘, her first novel ‘A Squash And A Squeeze‘ was published in 1993. Personally I am not a fan of her books, however, I am aware she is a very popular author among children.
